The best time to see it, the sunset, is better in spring and autumn, it is never denied to guests and it comes out from the oval openings under our roof, where now, as always, it lives and reproduces.
The first time we saw it, we didn't know it would become the protagonist of our lives.
The house we had just bought, which needed extensive renovation to become our bed & breakfast, was home to such a beautiful and increasingly rare creature. We felt truly lucky, and giving its name to this Inn seemed "obvious" to us.
So we live together with our barn owl (sometimes more than one) in perfect harmony, trying to disturb it as little as possible and explaining to all our guests how the "real owner of the house" is useful in hunting rodents and frees us from the most unwanted animals without asking for anything in return.
